(Thanksgiving was the first celebrated by the Pilgrims in the early 17th century. Pilgrims were religious people that came from Europe and wre the early settlers in America.
The modren Thanksgiving turkey is much like the ones that were hunted in the forests around Plymouth Squash and corn, which were also harvested by the early Pilgrims , appear on the Thanksgiving tables. Pumpkin pie and Indian pudding are traditional Thanksgiving desserts.)
T: What's your favourite festival? my favourite festival is Thanksgiving .
T: Show a picture of an American football on it. Then teach the sentences ' We watch a football game'.
T: Let's have a special meal and say Thank you for our friends , family , and parents.
Step 4 Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
1 What are the two American festivals in the story?
2 What do people do on Flag Day?
3 What do people do on Thanksgiving Day?
Answers:
1 They are Flag Day and Thanksgiving Day.
2 They carry flags and sing songs.
3 They always have a special meal on Thanksgiving .Before the dinner, they say ' Thank you' for the foods, famoly and friends. They watch a big football game.

My mother loves this festival. She makes moon cakes. Her cakes are delicious. My father likes this festival, too. He sings moon songs. His songs are good.
This is my family. Our favourite festival is the Spring Festival . We have a special family dinner. and we eat jiaozi.
My favourite festival is after Spring Festival . It's at night. There are lots of lantrens and there's a dragon boat race.
