　　spring set in early this year. some of my neighbors began to grow flowers. there were morning glories, jasmine, cactus, and the like in their flowerpots. i wanted to have a try myself. but i had neither knowledge nor eperience in such matters. fortunately, i came across a book on plants in the library. i read the relevant chapters, which left me with the impression that any plant would grow luuriantly if you could supply it with sufficient fertilizer and water. of these two essential factors, fertilizer was obviously by far the more important one.

　　according to what i had learnt from the hook, i sowed some seeds of morning glory in a flowerpot with a lot of fertilizer, and watered them everyday. i really took good care of them and eagerly awaited their sprouting. but,be that as it may,they just didn＇t come up. when half a month had elapsed,i was absolutely disappointed. i dug some of the seeds out of the soil and found they had already rotted! why they had rotted defied my analysis. so i went to consult one of my neighbors. he told me my failure was due to my misunderstanding of the hook, and the fact was that i had overfed themwater or fertilizer may be a two-edged sword.

　　i think i must draw a lesson from this failure——never go beyond the limit even if for good purpose.

In order to help students find good jobs after graduate, schoolshould adjust the real demand of working position and practical skills shouldbe emphasized. 　　隨著社會的進步，有些人認為大學課程應偏向實用性。為了幫助學生畢業后找到好工作，學校應該適應調節工作崗位上的真正需求，還應該要重視實用技能。這一觀點一提出來就得到了很多人的贊成。理由如下：

　　On the one hand, thetraditional university courses are too theoretical. The traditional courses aretending to help people learn more knowledge in the book, because the ancientsdo not want to see their theory lost. So, students often learn lots of theoryin university, while most of them are not useful in their real workingposition, because they don’t have practical meaning.

　　一方面，傳統的大學課程理論性太強了。傳統的課程傾向于幫助學生學到更多書中的知識，因為前人們不想看到他們的理論就此丟失了。因此，學生往往在大學中很多理論，而大部分理論知識對于他們實際崗位是沒有用的，因為他們沒有實際意義。

　　On the other hand, practicalcourses are helpful in students’ real working position. If students can havemore practical courses, they must be more skilled when they are working. Afterall, there is a famous saying,” practice makes perfect.” Since they have learnedit in school, how can they not do well in real life? Practice plays animportant role in people’s job success.

　　另一方面，實用性的課程對于學生的實際工作崗位是有幫助的。如果學生能夠上更多的實用課程，他們工作的時候肯定會更熟練。畢竟，俗話說，“熟能生巧”。因為他們在學校就已經學過了，他們怎能不在實際應用中做好呢？在大家的'工作成功中實踐扮演著很重要的作用。

　　To sum up, for the sake ofstudents’ future, I think major in university should be more practical. But thecourses should not only focus on practical knowledge. Apart from being aspringboard for a better job, university education has many importantfunctions.

　　綜上所述，為學生的未來著想，我認為在大學專業應該偏向實用性。但是課程也不能僅僅只注重實用知識。除了作為一塊找個更好的工作的跳板，大學教育還有很多的作用。
