No one can deny that technological advances are transforming the way we live at a breathtaking rate. It is hard to believe that only a few years ago the great majority of people were still communicating by letter and traditional telephones. Now e-mail and cell phones are rapidly replacing the old forms of communication. All these technological advances make our lives increasingly more comfortable and convenient.
When it comes to the advantages of technological advances, the first thing occur to mind must be the face that it largely liberated human beings from most of the tedious manual labor.Has it not only improved productivity dramatically, but also has enables more people to conduct intellectual work to boost productivity.
Besides, advances has greatly improved the quality of life. Home appliances make housework easier; vehicles shorten the traveling time between distant places and office machines facilitate working efficiency. All these have contributed to a life more comfortable and convenient than ever. Life without a car or computer is intolerable to many people. All in all, technological advances have changed our life profoundly forever.
Meanwhile, advances also post challenges and sometimes even crises to humans,such as environmental contamination and energy depletion.Let's take cars for example.They not only pollute the air,but make them crowed which carses a lot of traffic accidents. The noise made by cars disturbs the residents living on both sides of streets all day and night.
What worries some people is that the technological devices which are transforming our lives are at the same time leading to less human interaction. However I believe these problems are temporary and technological advances will eventually benefit the entire human race.
In conclusion, the advantages outweigh its disadvantages. Thus its trend should be well maintained and enhanced in order to accelerate socialdevelopment and improve life quality. Some maycontend that machanization at the same time generates various problems so enormous .
