　　Children from One Child Families

　　Some people think that children from only-child families have more merits than shortcomings. Firstly, they value free will and will not accept orders blindly. Secondly, they love trying out new methods and are full of creative ideas. Thirdly, they have a thirst for upgrading (升級，更新) their knowledge. Lastly, they expect others to treat them as indispensable partners of the team.

　　However, some people believe that the only children have more shortcomingsthanmerits. For example, many show much dependence on parents.And some never learn to do elementary household chores(最基本的家務活). It is even worse that most tend to be spoiled, irrational (不講理的，無理性的) and self-centered. They are "the little emperors" in families and schools.

　　According to my understanding, their merits and shortcomings are equally "eyecatching". Commenting on the only children is a science and an art as well. Their progress should be reviewed. School, family and society must give them room to use their creativity, skills and ideas. Remember, don＇t lavish (慷慨給與) them with too much concern and material goods, or "the little emperors" today will not be their own masters tomorrow.

　　In reading we read a story called “ Brave Melissa”. It talks about a little girl who saved her dog that is twice sizes of her. And we also read a story called “ Life Saving Class” , it tells about a kid who wanted to be an lifeguard, so he went to have classes, but we don’t like the sight of blood.

　　In English we have learned types of sentences, they are Interrogative, Exlamatory, Peclarative and Imperative sentences. In science, we did a fun thing that we took the clay and rolled it into an ball, we made it an falt bottom and then put a starw on the top of it and we put it on our pules, it moved up and down!
