原句：when you come to the second traffic light， turn right.

刪除諸如“who is”或“that is”之類的關(guān)系代詞，變從句為短語，例：
句：the novel， which is written in three parts， told a story that took placein the middle ages.
修改后：the three-part novel told a story set in the middle ages.
注：把句中的“three parts”改用形容詞來表達(dá)，節(jié)省了四個(gè)不必要的單詞“which is writtenin”。我們經(jīng)常可以將關(guān)系代詞如“that”去掉，這只會(huì)引起最少的變動(dòng)。學(xué)習(xí)方法

剔除你不需要的單詞，例：

英語寫作注意兩點(diǎn)
一、先審題，弄清寫作要求審題是寫好作文的前提，也是書面表達(dá)的基礎(chǔ)。如果寫偏了題，語言表達(dá)再好也很難得高分。審題時(shí)要注意兩個(gè)方面：
1.認(rèn)真地看兩遍題目，包括提示，全面了解寫作要求。
2.理清思路，確定體裁、框架結(jié)構(gòu)和內(nèi)容。
二、用英語進(jìn)行思維英語寫作時(shí)必須排除漢語思維的干擾。
從現(xiàn)在起應(yīng)逐漸加大閱讀量和聽的輸入量，將閱讀、聽力訓(xùn)練與書面表達(dá)有機(jī)地結(jié)合起來。經(jīng)常體會(huì)和領(lǐng)悟作者傳遞信息和表達(dá)思想的方式。在話題討論和寫作中經(jīng)常運(yùn)用所學(xué)到的表達(dá)方式就會(huì)有所創(chuàng)造。還要盡量做到“五多”：多看、多聽、多思考、多用心體驗(yàn)和感悟身邊的人和事、多用英語說和寫自己的體驗(yàn)和感受。
